IMPROVING LIVES THOUGH CREATIVITY
WORKSHOPS
We work with all aspects of the community across East Anglia and beyond, especially the members of the community that have additional needs, mental health or in recovery.
All our projects are bespoke to meet your needs and are mobile.
Music workshops
Using drumkits, guitars, keyboards, bass and percussion, these workshops encourage the participants to compose and perform their composition, with no experience needed.
In addition, I work with the clients to write their original lyrics. At the end of the workshop, we perform the piece of music, giving a sense of achievement to those taking part.
Junk funk
These workshops can get you thinking. Who knew, for instance, a cat basket could sound funky when drummed upon or your wastebin makes a great bass drum? junkfunk workshops sound unique and encourage people, especially children, to see objects in a different light and experiment with the sounds they can make.
Drum lessons
These are fun sessions. How will you want to learn if a lesson isn't fun and engaging? I find using this approach gives faster results for the pupil. They are more likely to practice and enjoy their chosen instrument. Lessons are generally 1 hr.
Samba workshops
Everyone loves drums. Well, I do!! It's great fun and is a magical way of bringing people together in a shared musical experience involving many different percussion instruments, from large too small. These workshops encourage teamwork; help improves confidence and expression. they also can provide a sense of achievement and pride in the finished piece.
Team building
Instead of the usual teambuilding exercises, you would expect paintballing, outdoor stuff etc, why not have your teambuilding day building a samba band? Where everybody is equal, and everybody works together, contributing ideas to enable an entire-blown performance piece by the end of the day. This exercise helps people listen to each other and has no hierarchy. Allowing all voices to be heard. Great fun for all. No experience is needed. Just the openness that you might be able to do things you didn’t realise you could.
IPADS
Not everyone wants to play an instrument, or perhaps would struggle to hold one. iPads enable the user to quickly compose and create music simply. This is particularly useful for people with limited movement, and the multicoloured screen provides a visual stimulus allowing the user to remain engaged. Sounds fantastic!
Dance
Dance is great exercise, good for the brain, as it improves memory, attention and concentration. it can be as simple or as complicated as you like and is inclusive of all abilities. It can also help with social interaction skills by interacting with others through dance and expression. these workshops can be done in person or uk wide via zoom /teams etc
