IMPROVING LIVES THOUGH CREATIVITY
Directors

George Fothergill
As well as previously running a charity, and 15 years of experience working with vulnerable members of the community. George is a gifted and versatile musician who has the knack of being able to communicate with people regardless of their condition or circumstance, he has directed many creative projects/workshops over the years for multiple clients and always endeavors to show that creativity can affect positive change in the community.
He has performed in multiple venues around the world, and even joined a circus as a musical director, having had his own lived experience of addiction, mental health and homelessness, he feels very strongly that the opportunity to engage in creativity and expression should be for all people, regardless of circumstance or condition as it means to improve well-being.

Laurence Smith
I have over 20 years’ lived experience of drug addiction and county lines, and 8 years of working professionally to support vulnerable adults in related areas.
During my own recovery, I gained an FdA in Creative Arts for Wellbeing and a BA in Applied Care Practice for Mental Health.
I have facilitated groups of my own and have seen, and felt, the benefits of how music, creative writing, composing, and performing together can have a positive impact on mental health and self-confidence.
This was especially true during my recovery from drug addiction, and it helped me express the feelings and emotions I was going through at each stage of that journey.
I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of Status Creative CIC.
I have seen the huge benefits that the creative arts can bring, and have seen anxiety reduce dramatically, healing from trauma take place, and confidence increase from session to session within this organisation.
I’m looking forward to working with Status Creative CIC to raise social awareness and bring this amazing service to as many people as possible across the East of England.
I also hope to help make the service as accessible as possible for people with varying needs and requirements.
